Dear Anita,
Last week I shared your story of Selena’s Crystal Balls with my nephew Jack
who is 5, he loved it and really connected with the messages. He has always been
around bush flowers and crystals since he was born and was very fascinated to
learn the positioning and colours of the chakras.
With gratitude and thanks, continue your great journey. Karen
‘Selena’s Crystal Balls – A Magical Guide Through the Chakras’ is Anita
Ryan-Revel’s second book and her first for children.
It’s a charming book which captivates right from the start with its lovely bright cover (I’m always a sucker for sparkly things).
Selena’s Crystal Balls talks to children about the seven key aspects of life; security, creativity, empowerment, love, communication, vision and joy.
Written in the first person, the child goes to a fair, where he or she meets a lady with long, golden hair who tells the child the secrets of the seven different coloured crystal balls. Each ball, and its colour, relates to a different chakra.
The illustrations are detailed and engaging, allowing lots of opportunities for the reader and the child to talk.
The story can be read on many levels. Whether you’ve never heard of a chakra or are quite the expert, I believe you could read and enjoy this book with your children.
Having said that, the author has provided a very informative section about chakras at the back of the book, and I enjoyed reading the book several times whilst referring simultaneously to this information.
I wish I’d had this book when my kids were young, I think they would have enjoyed it.
